Preta#

The “hungry ghost” is a type of spirit in buddhist and taoist philosophy. It is distinct from a regular ghost, which is a typical part of the birth and reincarnation cycle - a regular ghost will eventually progress towards a second death and either be reborn or face oblivion, while a hungry ghost persists indefinitely. A hungry ghost comes about when someone commits some great sin or acts in an exceptionally greedy way - they are damned to eternal hunger that they are unable to satisfy, and it is almost impossible to cultivate enough good karma to break free of this state.

Occasionally, a hungry ghost might also manifest when a halloween zombie sculpt is given a last minute makeover.

I had a vague idea of where I wanted to go, but I didn’t quite know how to reach there. It took a bit of experimentation to find a face and pose that I liked.

But the attempt immediately after the previous was the winner, I thought.
